Get more done faster with a hatchet that chops deeper on every swing and includes a heavy-duty sheath. An easy-to-carry choice perfect for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, our 14" Hatchet is ideal for chopping kindling and small- to medium-sized logs. Like every one of our axes, this hatchet combines perfected weight distribution, advanced blade geometry, an ultra-sharp edge and virtually unbreakable design to maximize your performance. This combination of features allows the blade to bite deeper when chopping. With more blade penetration on each swing, you can chop more wood in less time, with less effort and hand strain.
I bought the x7 and this black Target one to compare. As far as I can tell after close inspection, the only difference is the colors and price. Both axes have same grooves/design on the plastic handles, same grippiness and nearly identical weight (within a tenth of an ounce).
So it comes down to aesthetics and color preference. No functional difference as far as I can see.

This is a really nice hatchet, picked one up a few weeks back for camping. The orange handle makes it really easy to find in all the camping gear.
This is the all black A6 tho. Not the X7.... Think the main difference is the overmolded handle on the X7. This is the cheaper model, although they're basically the same. If you prefer green to orange tho, you can spend twice as much on Gerber freescape 14 vs the x7 you have 😂

Looks like the same hatchet as the Gerber 14" Freescape hatchet (Fiskars bought Gerber years ago, which is another story for another day). The Gerber gets a lot of love on REI's reviews.
I prefer Estwing hatches/axes, but I can't find mine presently. Might pick this little hatchet up, but I wish Amazon would match the price.
I personally can't stand the plastic handle axes. They hit my elbow like a tuning fork. I prefer and have wood handle axes. Sometimes Sierra has good ones like Hults Bruk. Which I prefer to my much more expensive Gransfors splitter I ended up getting rid of.

I'm a big fan of it (have two currently) and prefer the all black version, so I'll be grabbing one today.
