I know it's all relative and we have different budgets and such, but it is ~$4 per glass, which is pretty dang low for these, lowest I've ever seen by a significant margin. Perhaps you could split amongst some friends?

Even a lowball whiskey glass from IKEA is $4.

i don't think i've ever seen them in club, but possibly. you can call your local club and give them the item number (on the website), and they can tell you if they stock it

great deal

I know this is the gold standard of whiskey tasting and so, and that commands a premium, but is there a close alternative that maybe shaped differently but is still a good whiskey tasting glass that's cheaper? Something on the Ikea or Crate&barrel lines?

Good deal.
I got this a few years ago for the same price; at the time didnt' think I'd need it. Since then I broke cracked my original Glencairn, so this set came handy as I'm down two now, one the replacment and one gift for a friend who was very happy.

Don't leave us Scotch drinkers out. 🥃
Just picked up a bottle at Costco today. I'm in for a set. 2 to my girl, 2 to my buddy and 2 for me (in case I break 1 of my other 4).

if anyone wants a point of reference, I paid $5 each for 4 back in 2011 (on amazon).

Nope, any alternative better or worse that's is a purpose made whiskey glass will be much more than $4. There's always mason jars.

Used to use Glencairn glasses but now I prefer Glenmorangie glasses instead. Heavier, and wider to allow the whiskey/bourbon to breathe a bit.

Just my personal preference.

I have several. They released a crystal version of this a while back and I've not used my normal Glencairn one since.
But these are crystal.
