Even at full price, how likely to actually detect before they detect you and slow down?
You will detect the cop long before he knows you even exist. Hell sometimes you'll get pissed that you slowed down so early.
With that being said this is a radar detector and not a cop detector so if the cop is simply parked on the side of the road without radar on it will not alert you. Or if they are running laser. It has laser detection but that's useless.

Does it block the false K & Ka radiation from Hondas, Acuras and Mazdas?
Uniden is one of the better detectors at filtering.
KA: for me it's always a cop I damn near never get a false alert. You do get alerts due to stationary devices in the same exact place every time but you can mark those with this unit. And you might get an alert for a cop that is i
on a different road near by that you don't see but not from blind spot monitoring.
K: I turn that shit off. I haven't seen cops that use it around me and haven't seen a detector that can filter it at even 90%. You can keep it on for a few months until you understand what cops in your area run and then start tweaking the settings.
Also if you see cops and your detector is not alerting then look if the cop is holding a gun shaped thing to his face. If he does that means he is running laser. Usually they would be out of the car or at least with window open (you can't run laser through glass)

I've actually measured this when I'd get Ka band (which is always a LEO.) I average 2-3 miles if they're lazy and just leave the gun on. And that's over hills and such, so maybe in a flatter area, you'll get even better range. Laser is so focused anymore with modern guns that you usually won't get any notice.
BSM filtering is decent, but Mazda's still tend to occasionally set it off. It's MUCH better filtering than the R3.
Personally, I've found the Escort line to be better at auto-learning. But Uniden isn't bad.
In a populated area and during normal hours waze is more reliable. However these can save you when no one reported the cop or there's simply not enough traffic. Not a solution for laser though. By the time it pings you are already done. I look at it this way: even if it saves one ticket you are still ahead.
Never saw at my store but says it's available at full price, will go there to check where they are and the price, if discounted I came back later to let you guys know

I have a cheaper one but radar pretty far, laser almost useless.
