Man I wished they would stop making so many revisions for their products. I've already replaced so many of their stuff multiple times because I like the redesigns, and looks like I'm going to have to do it again. 🤦🏼 ♀️

As for hard to wash, looks really easy, all the plates are inserts so they detach from the base by the looks of it, which means you can wipe them down easily with a damn washcloth or like me just throw it in the dishwasher.

ive got the older fg551. works great, but the older one can't be used as a direct grill as the heat source is in the top so the lid has to be closed. i love it though and it works great. its easy to clean as the inserts pull out and most of the time you can just wipe them out no fuss. the non stick coatings work pretty dang good.

this looks like a straight up upgrade. having the griddle and direct heat cooking seems like its worth upgrading.

Yep, bottom racks locks in place and you push a button on the side to release it, easy wash, definitely helps to wipe down the inner top/ceiling after a couple of uses too

Love mine, I don't bother with the thermometer though we just use a handheld one. It poured here on Monday and it straight up made the most tender steaks and baked potatoes. Fairly easy to maintain just let it cool wipe down the surface and we used dawn power wash on the griddle, nothing to scrub.

For my George Foreman looking Grill, I take a cold wet rag and cook it for a minute, it usually wipes clean easily. I use a second rag to hold the hot rag

Not recommended advice for people that don't have common sense

Yep, I used to use a soaked paper towel folded a few times and let it run for like 5 minutes, and it steamed it pretty well than just wiped it clean.

This thing looks awesome! I was considering buying it to replace my current 6qt air fryer and gain a griddle. The air fryer portion is only 4qts . It's not enuf 6qt sometimes is not enuf . I don't have counter space for 2 . If it was 6qts or bigger I'd buy one!
