Good saw. Doesn't seem like a huge deal over the regular price but they rarely go lower and they're already a great value.

I have one and it definitely punches above this price point as far as I'm concerned. Louder than a cabinet saw of course, but haven't bogged it down yet either. Blade took very minor adjustment out of the box to get it "perfect" which was easy to do with the micro adjustment screw.

It's not much heavier than a fully loaded suitcase and has a sturdy handle, so you aren't breaking your back to move a "portable" saw.

My only gripe is that the throat plate flexes on narrow stock and the inserts available are either aftermarket (expensive-ish) coated MDF or OEM plates made of the same flexing plastic as the included one. It's a fairly shallow mount so making a sturdy and moisture stable zero clearance insert isn't as easy as cutting a piece of 3/4" plywood and dropping it in place.

I have one as well and I completely agree with the above. It was my first table saw and a great way to start out.

I have since done a slight upgrade to the sawstop cts, but I still have the skil for dado cuts.

It is super loud though. Those universal motors really scream. I'm saving up for a cabinet saw next.

I also reccomend making a parallel jig to fix the blade and fence. Mine were both slightly off from factory, but great when fixed.

The new ones ship with a metal throat plate now. Mine came with one and I got it from Amazon a couple months ago.

No one mentions that the fence on this thing is great for budget minded saw? I hate the free floating fences on other brands. The sliding fence makes getting just the right sized cuts so much easier.

Great saw. I got one at $259, and I love it. As good or better than any of the jobsite saws outside of the lack of wheels. I really like the Skilsaw with the big wheels, but those are $650. This saw is not hard to move around, but being able to roll would be ideal.

Bit lower at ContracotTool.com, $260.10 with free shipping (price shown after adding to cart).

But yeah, this thing is currently pretty much the top pick for a budget table saw. Just watch a YouTube video on setting up/calibrating a table saw if you've never done it before (stuff that should be checked with any new saw, just to make sure the angles and such are dead on).

Mine is. There are actually little rubber feet on it already so it can be placed on a bench without detaching the legs. This design also raises it up about 4" so you can get some dust collection on it: they really thought of a lot use cases.

I suppose you could take the legs off if you REALLY needed to by unscrewing a whole bunch of Allen heads that hold them on, but it's definitely not necessary.

I do not believe the legs are meant to be removed. You may be able to, but as others have said, it sits level with the legs folded under it. I've not used it like that, but I guess you could.
