Project Farm reviewed 3 ton jacks and he really liked this model. It was one of his recommendations at the end of the review.

But that's a $300 jack.
If the the lower rated capacity of this model isn't necessarily a deal breaker, you're probably better off just getting a rubber pad for it from Amazon, which would be larger, and easier to replace.

Or some other solution, especially if you have a vehicle brand where aftermarket adapters tailored to mate with the factory lift points are a thing.

The small, thin square pad on the HD 3.5-ton, and HF Daytona low-profile 3-ton jack isn't really that great. [reddit.com] Don't allow it to wag the dog and choose the higher capacity models if you don't really need them.

For this 3-ton model, and the equivalent HF Pittsburgh LP 3-ton with the round saddle (already linked above), something like this [amazon.com] fits perfectly. Plenty of options like it to choose from.

This jack is just the HF jack with a different color and branding, and a longer warranty.

When the Pittsburgh-branded version hits a good sale, it has been as low as $100, during the Spring BF sale. Usually, it's around $120-130 with the typical coupon, with the more colorful Daytona version carrying a +$30 differential, no matter the sale. The Daytona has better gusseting in certain areas of the frame, like the rear wheels, but is substantially the same, and its 90-day warranty period is no better.

IIRC, with the exception of the Super Duty model, all of HF's jacks only carry 90-day warranties, including most, if not all, of the other Daytona models.

This is a really good price. The jack weighs 78 lbs, so just a tad bit on the heavy side. But it's also steel, so that is expected. Tempted!

Wow, that's 4 times as long as the roughly equivalent Harbor Freight [harborfreight.com] jack!

I saw a supposedly leaked HF ad showing the Pittsburgh 3 ton steel jack on sale for $99.xx starting next week. I was waiting for it but then a Vevor 3 ton aluminum and steel jack went on sale for $155.99 a couple of weeks ago at eBay so I bought that.

This looks exactly like the one I bought from HF years ago. Still works fine but it is heavy and bulky to move around. Haven't ran into a vehicle it couldn't lift. From a super low Miata to a giant Cadillac, it lifts em all. I try to use a wood block on mine. I'd rather pull this out than fight with the puny service jacks in cars.
