Great deal, sadly this has the PSP version voice acting. I personally love the cheesy PS1 voice acting. Regardless the game is the same and one the best ever made.
For any fans of SOTN that haven't played it, I'd HIGHLY recommend Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It was my first introduction to Igavania-style games and I fell in love with it. Awesome game.

That game actually looks really good. Like a modern and very updated version of SOTN but doesn't go overboard on being too next-gen.
I haven't played Rondo. Does anyone know of this game is on PS+ or Gamepass?
Rondo of Blood is the prequel to SONT. I believe it came out in Japan for the PC engine as a CD ROM game. I find it more difficult than SOTN. It's only available on this compilation for PlayStation only.

Is the lore similar to Castlevania?
Very similar, yes. It takes many design cues from SOTN specifically. Overall, it was pretty good! It was developed by Koji Igarashi, who worked on many of the Castlevania games around that time.
SOTN is the game. This is why we have the metrovania genre. finished the game so many time. Theres might be other better castlevania but this one is in the top 20 best games ever made.
