Sometimes I feel why do they produce so much and then put them on clearance and prices are good to make people buy even when it's not needed. I understand we are capitalist but for most times a lot of things get produced by harming the environment and a lot of it gets wasted too when they expire.
Grabbed some of these when the 2 packs were recently on super clearance in store for $3. Great quality, but the smallest they had in store were mediums and they don't shrink in the wash so definitely nabbing smalls at $4.97 price. They do wash and dry really well, too. No fuzzies or anything.
These are my favorite lazy day pants. I bought some two years ago and despite being worn weekly they still look brand new, no pilling or shrinking.

Repped you.

I have strongly felt the same. For years!

Hyper consumerism is horrible for the environment and for people's wallets as well as home organization. I've said it long enough that if the factories in the world stop producing new clothes, our planet should still not face any shortage for decades.

Just to sell 40% of their production for MSRP, brands are willing to produce so much more, they rather discount by 70% and sell the remaining to liquidators by the weight. And still turn profits.

I much prefer new age social media brands that have limited quantity 'drops' and newer online only brands that are actively working on their demand projections and synced manufacturing to maintain 'zero stock'.
In order to get rid of clothes, you need to clearance them, you need to create space, build stores which leads to outlet stores, and put them on low prices for which people need space in their home closets, etc. They will get rid of the old clothes - hopefully they can recycle or they will throw it in garbage which goes to landfill.

Why can't we only be like Car companies - produce only what we need - we can buy what we need - but still it doesn't solve the problem of excess production.

Just look at the reams of paper.

Totally agree. On the flip side these materials can be easily recycled but we don't have proper recycling process for them yet.
