Yes it is horrible. I have used compressed air, isopropyl, and just frictioning the wheel to clean it but after a couple days, it starts "gunking" up and the volume no longer behaves consistently to how I'm turning. Maybe it'll even decide to increase the volume when I am trying to decrease it through the wheel. I don't bother.
Analog is really awful for game support (the games I play) and causes compatibility issues with games such as Hi-Fi Rush and Wanted: Dead so I disabled the controller/analog functionality completely in device manager. There are still some stuff you can do with the analog part but all of the output will be digital, i.e. changing keystroke length, different keystroke based on depth pressed. Cable is stiff and non-removable.
I'm looking to upgrade my Huntsman V2 Analog for the Blackwidow V4 Pro since I don't care about the analog customizations and I disabled the analog/joystick/controller in device manager. Blackwidow V4 has the a "rolling bar" volume knob similar to the Logitech G Pro X TKL that I have that has never got "gunked" up. Detachable cables, no stupid device manager issues, macro stuff too.
The keyboard performs as you'd expect from Razer but other than that, I kind of hate it. Unless you know your games can handle simultaneous controller input (analog WASD for movement for example is just faking controller) and mouse, that function just causes problems. Unless you want to mess with the custom keypress depth and all that junk, the other Huntsman would be better and cheaper. Huntsman Analog is buggy on their new Razer Synapse program and also has less software support due to less users.
edit:
- To clarify what I mean by compatibility issues is games won't accept a real controller input (wireless xbox controller) with the keyboard plugged in, even if the controller is set to default via windows.
- Also the volume knob being "gunked up" is not the only issue, I've had problems where the volume level bar shows up in Windows, meaning that I'm changing the volume, but it's just the bad volume knob sending false positives to Windows. Minor annoyance when it happens, doesn't happen too often though honestly.

All of this. Was excited to have one before for capabilities, but any game that wants you to use a controller or keyboard/mouse is a massive pain or doesn't work since it thinks it's using a controller

I'm kinda iffy about the blackwidow line. I have V3 and it does double typing all the time. Really annoying. It has the volume wheel which does the thing you complained about. I'm gonna wait for long term reviews before getting another razer wireless keyboard

Aw, does it? I mostly want to get a razer keyboard since my favorite mouse is the Basilisk V3 Pro (which I like more than the G502 X Plus) so I can just have one software running for both my peripherals.
But those are fair points, I may have to re-think my purchasing decision. My Blackwidow Elite actually had double typing as well. I submitted an RMA ticket for it but at that point, Razer had no Blackwidow Elite's in stock so they offered me the Huntsman V2 Analog as a replacement.

I totally get it. I have the Naga pro, but for my entertainment setup, I sit back about 7 feet from my tower and TV in my living room. It's just hard putting in passwords even if the double type happens. I tried to connect it via USB cable and turn off the Bluetooth, but the double type still happens. I have another setup that's a bit more normal but that's all wired. There, I have a wired corsair KB and the logitech G600 wired mouse. Easier to game there than my wireless setup in the living room

I'm not 100% sure why but I bought myself a Huntsman V3 Pro (from a Huntsman V2 Analog) since I just found it used for $80. But I'm returning it for a couple reasons. One is I think the PCB is messing something up with my PC since my Razer mice started acting up after plugging in the V3 Pro. I bought it since the double typing you experience made me decide against a blackwidow v4. NOTE: Blackwidow V4 75% is the only keyboard in that line up that is hot swappable, the blackwidow pro or regular or X aren't for whatever reason.
But the objective facts for a comparison between V3 Pro and V2 Analog is:
1. Oh my god the build quality is absolutely horrendous now. V2 Analog weights ~1230 g, the V3 Pro (the full sized keyboard) is ~850. The included wrist rest dropped from ~475 in the Analog V2 to 240.
2. The chassis feels a lot more flimsy (and looks it subjectively, brushed aluminum looks far more cheap than the matte aluminum in all of razer's other keyboards. There's a lot more plastic
3. The wrist rest is basically just a pad with pleather on it rather than being a wrist rest. Oh and also the wrist rest doesn't have rgb passthrough like the V2 analog. Because there's no pins (and the magnets are weaker I believe), the connection is also way weaker and will come detached more easily if you are making slight adjustments to the keyboard.
4. The volume wheel (surprise surprise) is the weakest part since mine is actually grating itself on the sharp corner on the chassis. I am also able to activate the "push" button on it by just rocking it back and forth. The volume wheel actually kind of feels solid. There's more distinct steps so I feel like it's less likely to become "useless" as previous Razer keyboards have but I might be wrong about that.
5. The switches (I think) are louder than the Analog v2 but eh, they feel fine. I'm not a keyboard guy so my opinion probably doesn't count for much.
Either way, I may just get a non-razer keyboard with light FOSS software. I don't need much customization in my keyboard, just fn+key for autohotkey. Or I may just see if they come out with a hot-swappable Blackwidow v5 full sized or TKL.
