I got this for my wife a couple of months ago. She seems to go back and forth between this and her regular straighteners. My 12 year old thinks this one is better though.

If you have time to use it after you washed you hair, this is 100 times better. It causes way less damage and it will last longer (at least for my type of hair (3b)), especially with the right product. On the other hand, the straightener can be used without having the hair damp after washing it, so you can use it at any time, and it can be more localized. You can also shape it with a straightener. All of this but with a lot more damage. I would say they serve two slightly different purposes, and if you have crappy brittle hair like mine that gets damaged easily but love really straight hair, it's worth it.
Not for international traveling. The model is either 110v or 220v depending on where you purchased it. 220v converter also doesn't work. Dyson is a great product but beware not to take it with you when you travel.
NIce thing about buying through the eBay link is you can return it if you don't like it. No returns on refurbished items through Dyson, but with Dyson via eBay, it's 30-day return.
