Always with the lentils, something else might be nice for a little variety.

fyi, if you live near a good indian market
they sell 9oz side dish pouches like this
only $2-$3 each, with a far wider variety
and more flavorful herb and spice profile.
if you use these to flavor your rice or potato
i strongly recommend you get a medium
not mild like most tasty bite brand stuff.
these products will have a "pepper gauge"
of 3 or 5 pepper icons that display how
much spice heat they deliver.
i always buy the middle or medium ones.
