Anyone have any experience with this site? My father in law loves Kershaw knives and this would make for a nice Father's Day gift, just not sure if the site is legit? 🤔

The zing has 8Cr steel, which is common and nothing special. At $20, I'd recommend spending just $7 more for the Kizer Mini Pelican (expired deal at $20 but live currently at $27 Amazon) with N690 steel

More than a few bad reviews on this model. Weak locking mechanism. I tend to use my fingers on occasion. Hard pass.

Not a fan of kershaw assisted opening mechanism. The torsion bar would always break on me. And it's not as fast or easy to open than for example a spyderco

Nice. I got my first micarta handle recently and really like it.

I would also point out the zing is a stainless handle. My previous experience with stainless handles left me feeling a lack of ability to firmly grip and control a bladed tool which is not my favorite feeling.........

Micarta is my new favorite.

I've had 2 of these Zings and I love them for EDC. I never had a problem with them unlocking. I'm ordering another since I lost the other 2.

Strongly recommend this. I have it and it's light, easy to open and closer, good blade that holds an edge, and my first micarta handle which I love.

Gotta admit, the Federalist seems tempting to me. A 3.25" CPM-154 blade for under $50 is a good deal - especially in 2024.

However, I'd strongly prefer an assisted opening mechanism and pocket clip, but that's not the point of the knife... I know someone mentioned they don't like Kershaw's assisted opener but my sv30 Blur has been my EDC since 2016 and (knock wood) it's still going strong.
