So if a serrated blade ruins the meat, then chewing with teeth must really ruin it. Or do you swallow each piece whole? In that case you may as well be eating squab (cut with serrated blades Big Grin)
That said, non-serrated blades can be easily sharpened before each use, so that is an actual advantage not mentioned by the previous posters.

These knives are serrated. That is a no-no for steak knives. They will tear the meat instead of making a clean cut and can ruin the experience of a good steak. Look at Zwilling's better steak knives like these: https://www.amazon.com/ZWILLING-J...r=1-5&th=1

Notice the better steak knives are not serrated. That's what you want for a great steak experience.

I have a zwilling set in white that came without steak knives and been looking for some to go with it. These are a nice simple design, just what I was looking for.

Yeah, sucks that they're serrated, but for as cheap as it is it's still worth consideration. I'll stick with my Messermeister Avanta knives, though (not that they're near this cheap).

Thanks, for posting but hate serrated knives, but it is what the wife likes so….
Doesn't feel right as it rips through meat, hard to clean, easy to rip skin, impossible to sharpen or repair.
The only serrated knives I do like to use are a large scallop bread knife and electric knife.

Since these are serrated, might as well throw them in the dishwasher 😜 and the solid metal handle won't crack so there is that…

I have these. I have had them for 3 or 4 years. I think I paid $40 for them. They are not butter knives but they are not really steak knives either. They do not rust, they look really nice. The weight and balance is really good. So they look the part with regards to presentation.

Real steak knives only do one thing, they cut up steak like a butcher. I use these knives to cut lettuce, chicken and steak. You need to get the angle right and they cut through the steak fine.

If you are a cutlery snob, these are the knives for you. They are not Henckels, they are Zwilling. It's the same company. They are dishwasher safe if you ask me. They are a solid piece of metal and they have no signs of rust anywhere.
