Any feedback on those portable A/C's? I'm in a 550sq foot unit, preferably would like to have it in my bedroom but most of the apartment would not benefit.

Be careful buying ANYTHING on Woot. It's owned by Amazon but returns are not free and contacting them is a hassle. I bought a "new" watch and it was dead on arrival. On opening the case, there was no battery! I'm still trying to get them to respond.

I've had no issue with woot returning stuff. I bought a stationary exercise bike that wasn't as described. They offered a full return or $75 off.

We just got the 12k btu Black and Decker portable AC for a 550ish area and it does surprisingly well. Cycles on and off as you'd expect. Set it for 68-70 and the livingroom t stat is spot on. Noise is reasonable or less than the LG window unit we had. We will see how it handles heat and humidity in August but for now, worth the investment.

Dual hose is much better theoretically, and you can wrap insulation around the hoses

I would never dispute that.....however all portable acs are horrible for energy efficient
