The reviews are pretty bad, but it is darn cheap for a splitter.

5 ton is at the low end of the spectrum for log splitters.

Might seem like a dumb question but my outdoor sockets are all 15a GFIs. Does this automatically trip them if it's pulling 15?

Pretty good buy if you're getting on in years but I don't know why someone would buy this then also have a separate exercise routine. I'd just get an easier splitting axe if anything

It might. Ran mine off a 20A circuit. The issue is that when you split a tough piece of wood, it ups the amp draw considerably. The other thing to consider: Cycle time is slow on these. I eventually upgraded to a gas splitter. The electric was fine for small amounts of wood to feed occasional use of a fireplace or fire pit.

This tonnage of splitter is honestly not going to be useful for most people splitting wood. It's good for limbwood up to 6 inch diameter, but I would not recommend anything bigger than that.

No it shouldn't. GFI senses a leak to ground or neutral and trips.

It shouldn't. 15A is peak draw.

My ax swinging days are over and I have nasty stringy barbershop pole ash to split.
