I like these as much as you do, it seems, so here's a neat trick. You know the hole in the side of the cap? The bits fit into, and through, those holes. Stick a bit through it sideways and you have a right angle / low profile screwdriver.

This is a nice tool to have laying around. I have a couple. In fact, I just used one an hour ago. There are 2 bits. Both are 2-sided with a phillips on one end and a standard (flat head) on the other. When changing from one side of the bit to the other, you must pull the entire bit from the screwdriver itself and flip the bit around. When re-inserting, do it gently, just enough to re-install the cap. Resist the temptation to force the bit all the way into the screwdriver, else you'll have trouble removing it again later. If it gets stuck, I'll use pliers to CAREFULLY wiggle it free.

I've got one in a cup within arms reach that I probably haven't touched for 6+ months lol

...my fault, for buying too many fancy (Wera, Milwaukee, etc) screwdrivers.

Your advise seems pretty solid - my active impression while getting a feel of it again is that one of the ends of the main body of the pen is fairly tight when removing/inserting a bit. Not quite 'needs pliers to remove' tight, but it may be the end that's had the cap on it for a while.

At least you're not getting screwed. Remember the pen is mightier than the sword.

I agree. At the sale price these are an excellent addition to everyone's toolbox. A while back I got some of these and gave them out to the apprentices.
