Got caught in Slickdeal effect. Ordered first and then read reviews. It may be fine but I decided to cancel my order.
What was it about the reviews that turned you off? I saw this one that sounded like it was written by AI (and for a different product):
"The inconsistency of the scale's weight readings is frustrating and undermines its reliability. Despite relying on its AI system, accuracy remains a hit-or-miss, failing to meet expectations. Disappointingly, this dissatisfaction extends beyond the scale, as the lack of response from both the seller and customer service regarding a camera issue compounds the frustration. Seeking recourse from Amazon for a replacement only redirects customers to Eufy, exacerbating the sense of being caught in a loop of unaddressed concerns. Overall, the brand's failure to provide consistent functionality and responsive customer service leaves consumers disillusioned and seeking more dependable alternatives."
all of these scales are only as good as their software development which is none
none of my scales work properly after a few years and they give wildly different numbers depending on the heat and humidity
might as well just get a shipping scale with high weight capacity that can be calibrated
TLDR - These work fine for measuring weight and syncing it with an app. Beyond that, smart scales, like most health devices, are algorithm-based and not giving you actual measurements of anything.
I have the previous one and like it. It is our third smart scale, second that we bought (first was a different brand and BT only - was annoyed having to have the app open for it to sync).
The only thing a smart scale is actually measuring with any degree of accuracy is weight, followed maybe by pulse. BMI is an awful metric, but is just based on weight and things it is not measuring so it's would be "accurate". If you are using a smart scale for anything beyond the convenience of tracking weight, I am sorry. Read the manual. It is very clear this, like all smart scales, measure your electric resistance through your feet. Based on that, it estimates things like body fat %, water %, weight of your bones, etc. with algorithms. If you read the manual, typically it says you need damp feet for it to work the best. The key would also be consistent moisture around you as well as your feet otherwise it would be like measuring your weight at a different time each day with different things leading to your measurement. Wake up, pee, stand on scale in your birthday suit. If you wait longer, you start through in new variables that won't offer the same usefulness of information.
I am in the market for a smart scale but this code does not work. My son wants to have a scale for his apartment. I have Wyze scale at home and I am very happy with it. The only minor inconvenience, it is Bluetooth only , so I need to sync every time I weigh in. It has so many metrics it tracks and syncs to Apple Health. I was going to give a shot on this, now I will go with the newer model Wyze X smart scale.
