Shrinking & Inaccurate Restaurant Base
I foolishly used the PDF link and inKind website to check the restaurants. It's inaccurate. Download the inKind app, sign up for an account, and then decide if it's gonna be useful to you. The restaurant base is small.
If you live in a place with a lot of restaurants on this app (e.g., NYC, SF, DC, etc...) this can be a great deal. Essentially 40% off bills and paying bills with the app is usually very easy. But note that the credit does *not* work for gratuities, which are charged on your card with the app.
It is not a scam. It's an app with actual restaurants, that accept the app as payment. Restaurants are not stiffed by the platform.

What it is, is fairly small and slow to grow their list of restaurants, and works best in major metropolitan areas. If you don't live in a major city, you may want to consider passing on this deal.

Never heard of this. Where can it be used? Do you use it as a Gift Card or Debit Card like other multi-store gift cards?

It's a gift card that will add to your balance on the inKind app, which lets you pay at hundreds of different restaurants. But it's really only sensical if you live in one of the big cities with a large footprint of participating restaurants (or visit often).

If you go to their website and scroll down you can see a map: https://inkind.com/

I think this is a great deal especially if you do not already have a Amex offer such as the spend $50 get $50 back offer. Sometimes you can even combine multiple coupons, since you pay through the app. For example, if you had a bill of $70, you could first apply a non-inKind restaurant issued coupon of $20 off $40, request the check, and then apply the restaurant's inKind coupon (often a $25 off $50 coupon for new visitors) or a refer-a-friend coupon which reduces your bill to $25. The only negatives are that you can't tip with the inKind credits, and the system sometimes has technical issues.

Does anybody know if you can use the gift cards to fund a "house account" with a specific restaurant on inKind and further increase the value?

FYI: Can't be used for tip/gratuities.

Someone else mentioned above but wanted to highlight since it was in the middle of a paragraph. I purchased some discounted gift card a year ago to visit a restaurant with friends (Kann in Portland) for the amount we planned to spend plus tip based on the menu and then found we couldn't use it for tips when we went to pay with the app. It subtracted the food costs/taxes from the gift card amount and I had to use credit card for tip/gratuity, which was fine, just didn't know and would have prepaid a lesser amount or ordered more food/desserts/drinks but we were done and leaving at that point.

Luckily I was able to transfer the leftover balance ($40) to a friend who wanted to go to another restaurant on the app and they just gave me cash as I didn't live/visit city enough to just let $40 sit there. Not a scam and no monthly fees (you can subscribe to a pass that gives cash back as credit and other perks). Would use again with tipping in mind, probably will buy this now that I'm closer to the city.

I downloaded the app to check and it matched up exactly the same as the website. There's like 20 participating restaurants in Denver
