I on't think he has reviewed the 2024 Swift Go 16 model with Meteor Lake Processor. In fact, there are hardly any reviews for this model and most are for the 14" model. Most of the reviews for the 16" model is the last year's one, with Core i7-13700H and the cooling solution was enough to handle that. For that model. during the full CPU Load, the max Fan noise was around 46 dbA. With Core Ultra, I think this is going to be quieter during load.

Internet told me that the fan is noisy and it gets hot. I actually touched the display laptop at Costco yesterday and it seemed pretty warm.

I bought the 14" Swift Go w/ an i7 here on SD about a month ago. Had it less than 2 weeks. Believe it has 2 fans which I never hear nor does it get anywhere close to hot, slightly warm at most. Of course, all I do is surf the web etc, no games. This Acer seems like a good deal. Repped.

I got this when it was not marked down by Costco. The laptop benchmark 6 score multicore 15000 around which is very good. Overall good laptop.
Cons:
Occasionally when fan kicks in it's loud.
Screen bleed
Laptop hinge has two pokey rubber stumps which lift the hinge when laptop opens however that is uncomfortable if you plan to put it on your lap.
Battery realistically 6-7 hours moderate work.
If that hinge was not an issue I would have kept it

this. had a Dell like that, returned it for same reason the hinge. and it had the blower vent right against the lower edge of the screen when open. idiotic. even with a cooling pad it was a nuisance . not sure what the attraction of this kind of hinge is...

Specs are great but I would like to see higher rez screen on a 16" screen. I am not a resolution snob but after previewing many laptops lately there is a noticeable difference, and at this price range (greater than 800), I would expect high resolution.

It lifts the laptop a bit, creating some breathability. My Asus g14 has it, thankfully I am always at a desk when using my laptop.

It's honestly not bad, I have an 18 inch with that resolution. I have to scale my screen at 120% because text is smaller but not as bad as my 15.6" legion QHD, have to scale higher with that. The higher resolution is nice if you're doing a lot of work in Excel and want to be able to see more cells without scrolling, but again the downside at these small screen sizes is the size of text.

Its a very good laptop, its just that we are now halfway through the CPU generation, and Intel is already preparing its next gen laptops for later this year, so we are seeing mid-year discounts starting now. This happens every year, as Intel launches new CPUs every year.

Also when I say next gen CPUs are coming out in a few months, that doesnt mean to wait, as Lunar Lake uses a more expensive process node, and youll be paying MSRP, so those laptops will all be $1100+ at launch.

Not saying its a dealbreaker but maybe the screen is fhd lowers the price - though admit not familiar with FHD+

Thanks for the deal. Got one. Ultra 9 + 32gb ram is usually over $1,100.
This should be better build than the Lenovo slim 7, the screen separated from the casing the next day, it's build quality is suspect.
