Syntha 6 is more like a meal replacement. Comparing the macros to a whey protein powder is kind of silly.

Can anyone comment on flavor/taste with this. Considering buying for my son who is starting a training program this summer. something more like a mass gainer than a whey isolate would probably be perfect for him if it tastes okay.

This brand is probably one of the best tasting. It does have some extra fillers, but I see it makes of long digesting and short digesting , protein.. hence a better replacement than whey.

If your son is still in his 20s, he can likely burn off these fillers easily unless he's on a strict diet. Btw their other flavors are also amazingly milkshake tasting.

If you want some thing as a pure meal replacement casein/milk protein is best but taste meh and feels like a brick in my stomach.

I have the strawberry milkshake variant I use as meal replacement and it's great. And yes, all their flavors are fine with water.

Not really. Mass gainers have around 1000 calories per serving. Many are around 1200-1300 calories per serving.
