I'm normally very okay with newer technology and the imperfections but this exact router is worthless if you want to use Wi-Fi 7. The range is abysmal and when I mean abysmal I mean within sight of the router you will sometimes see spikes and drops. I don't think they're going to be able to fix this with firmware but maybe they could. Just so you know it's not going to be a great option for that. Ultimately I went with an ASUS router to see how AI mesh works with it and it's pretty great. But this is after attempting to use this router for a month

I'm not sure where you're getting that it has 2x 2.5Gb and the rest are gigabit.
Amazon and Best Buy stock the full, (5x) 2.5Gb model.
Walmart stocks the 2x 2.5Gb +3x gigabit version.
Both versions are called BE550.

Ordered one of these, and it kept constantly rebooting whenever the traffic from devices increased, found several software updates that claimed the issue was fixed but it still exists after almost a year of people reporting it. The only users I found that were able to fix it had to disable several features that made it not support mesh any more and lowered throughput. Sent it back to bad because I have installed a lot of TP-link gear and this was just a rough experience. I might also note that the Asus mesh router that replaced it had significantly more range and a better meshing design.

Think he means Asus non 7 (Wi-Fi 6) is still better than this one . While I'm don't have any experience with this router, I take his word. Routers is about the entire package, firmware, design, hardware. Just like Wi-Fi 6, there's $100 and $500 units.

Above all else, 99% aren't maxing WiFi 6 yet, and taking advantage of WiFi 7 is min 5 years away for the average consumer

You can use code 10BGARCHER in addition to the coupon to bring this to $175 + tax. I think that's a steal.

The Amazon AI review seems to sum up this device. The only other negatives, I have read are the limited 5ghz channel and some articles talking about a backdoor to China. This model also has paid monthly subscription services, so hopefully we don't encourage that and soon all routers have a monthly charge. On the bright side, it still functions without the monthly fee.

Great price, overall reviews seem positive, but yes there is a trend of people having disconnect issues with theirs if you go through the reviews and its consistent enough for some concern.

In short if you get a working one which you will know right away, you should be pretty happy with it. If not return it within 30 days and get something else.

The case used here reminds me of the OG Xbox prototype design revealed in 2000.

This BE9300 model does have all 4 LAN ports as 2.5G ethernet speed in reality.

The information is confusing. The advertisement on Amazon does show that all 4 LAN ports are of the 2.5G variety, however the actual BE9300 model supposedly have only 1x 2.5G port and 3x 1G port. The BE550 is advertised as having all 4x 2.5G LAN ports. Both models, BE9300 and BE550 are identical except for the advertised LAN ports.

At $200 it's not a bad deal. I find the wifi7 to be useless, and the overall range and performance to be decent. It's a good router, but it's not the best. Under heavy usage I find that my wifi devices can perform poorly even with solid signal. Pages just won't load. Could be a poor QoS implementation. I haven't done a lot of troubleshooting. I don't regret buying it, and the average user will probably be happy with it. Sometimes I wish I had something better though.

Honestly, at this price point, you'd be in much better hands buying a U7 Pro from Unifi and a cheap router (or use your existing router and disable the WiFi). The U7 Pro is $189, and ACTUALLY performs. With a PoE injector, you'd be right around $200. Switched to Unifi years ago, never looked back. Still using an R7000 as the backend router and get full gigabit over WiFi with my U6 Pro

I'm in the market for an ASUS WiFi router and I'm looking at the zen ET12 or the BE30000. Which did you go with?
