I picked this up a while back for $80 and my son loves it. We put together the tall tower after he demolished the regular castle and it had the hooks that looked like you might be able to connect all of these together? I'm tempted to buy another set to try...

Sorry, I meant to ask whether we can connect the 3:1 sets together at all. As in there are 3 instructions that come with it. Like do they just click together like the main castle walls? If you build the sets you'll see what I'm talking about.

I did see these "custom" sets the last time which made me want to buy more Smilie Some of those look even better than the original, or are just slight modifications of it.

No, I don't think any of the 3:1 sets connect together. They're completely independent builds. These would pair together better than some of the 3:1 sets, but they don't physically connect together. You'd probably want them spaced out a little anyway. I don't think you'd want the market attached directly to the castle.

FWIW, Target seems to also be selling this set now for $79.99. At least, in-store, so YMMV. Listed on the shelf price tag as WAS 99.99 NOW 79.99. I picked one up on June 8 for that price, and I saw it again at another location for the same $79.99 price today, too.

I bought this recently and think it's terrific. Here's why: firstly Lego focused on using typical blocks rather than unique pieces, reminiscent of Lego of yesteryear. This allows me to have a bigger bank of pieces for when I want to build whatever I want from my multiple sets. Second, the 3 models you can create from this are terrific. Fourth, there are a TON of pieces and will take a long time to build. Probably the best value Lego models around today.
