The Alienware equivalent to this monitor (AW3423DWF, matching 1440p, 34" 21:9) is a better move right now, IMO
  • -$50 less, $800 for the Alienware: search Google for AW3423DWF, select Dell (+/-cb)... note: if you go directly to Dell they're pulling some dynamic pricing stuff which indicates a higher price of $1099)
  • Rtings Review [rtings.com] gives the Alienware a slight edge for brightness & color accuracy (see AW3423DWF vs. S34BG85)
  • The Alienware has 4.2 stars on Amazon vs. 3.8 stars for the Samsung

I just got open box excellent for $523 and it came with $50 BB gift card. So net $473.
