This seems to be a great laptop, but the previous thread mentioned that it canNOT be charged using its Thunderbolt 4 USB C port, and that you need to ALWAYS plug the Lenovo charger in. Moreover, the Thunderbolt 4 would not support 2 x 4K monitors.
These points, if true, are a deal breaker for me.
Anyone can confirm or (hopefully) rejected the above claims? TIA!

I can't speak to the monitor support but it does charge from the Thunderbolt port. It is however pretty picky about the chargers/cables that it will accept.

What have you found the battery life to be for regular, office/Internet tasks?

would that port be enough for power deliver support driving the screen and video card?

One ding I think for the laptop is that it only has 1 usbc ports.. fine if you have a dock but was hoping to see at least 1 on each side

can confirm: it DOES work with SOME chargers, but definitely not all. I have several 100w PD chargers, and only about half of them worked.

I also have a dell monitor with 90w pd and that one DEFINITELY didn't work. since I spend a lot of my time at this space, this was an absolute deal breaker for me, and a heart breaker, because I REALLY wanted to love this machine!

one the plus side I did get the pro 5i version at costco which is close ENOUGH to this machine, and DOES work with all my chargers. might give that a look if it's as important to you as it is to me!

What have you done the battery life to be for regular, office/Internet tasks?
Forgive me if I don't understand your question. I'll try to answer:
- I have owned the Slim Pro 9 for about six months. I also bought an LG Gram 17" (matte display, no advanced GPU) about five months ago.
- I use the Lenovo Slim Pro 9 as a desktop replacement. I love it for what it is.
- I could modify it by adding thermal paste and throttling the processors. But the thermal paste would not extend the battery, it runs fairly cool for an i9, and slowing the processors defeats the purpose of owning this for speed.
- I get 2hrs to 3hrs of battery life depending on the applications I run.
- When I travel, I take my LG Gram, often without the power adapter. It's light. It isn't as fast as the Lenovo Slim Pro 9 and the display isn't as nice, but I'm ok with that. I pick my tool according to my needs.
- Slickdeals helped me justify the purchase of each. If I had to only have one laptop, I would pick the LG Gram based on my lifestyle. But I also love the Lenovo Slim Pro 9.
**Edit: I'm a business user and not a gamer.**

Thank you for your answer.
Does this mean that this is the slim pro 9i ?
The specs show that it has an intel processor however the title doesn't include the i next to the 9.
Also, is this the 2023 or the 2024 model?
Thanks in advance!!

This looks to be the 2023 model, though there wasn't a ton of progress done on chips over the last year. You can see the new model by looking up the Yoga Pro 9i: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/leno...Id=6571373

While I was considering some Gaming Laptops with a lot more muscle, I am considering this refurbished model for the OLED. I have problems in games now telling the difference between surfaces (my eyes suck), so I think a higher-end display might do me a better favor than GPU in being able to play games decently.

Have this. Really regretted purchasing it. Very sensitive TouchPad that you can't reduce the sensitivity, which results in unindented open, close, highlighting, moving, splitting screens... tried to live with that for two months and gave up. Support is terrible. Battery duration is underwhelming, and it is loud when charging. The look and the screen are nice.
