It's heavy enough that you'd have a hard time getting a boat on plane with this planer on the bow. It's hard to explain. Adjust your trim accordingly

Consider adding the cart. It's got wheels with a giant foot-press lock. There's also a shelf below and pre-drilled holes to fasten down the 734 or 735.

have it. it's great even with the straight knives. if you're into woodworking, this is the best 'mobile' planer available, as in you could put it in a vehicle and transport it without a forklift. haven't gotten the spiral cutter head, but i've heard it makes it even better, for an additional ~$400ish

with that being said, Amazon typically has a BF deal for this for $499 (with extra knives and infeed/outfieed included like this deal).
