It's not to protect you. It's because American drone manufacturer's cannot compete due to higher price and shittier product. So they lobbied the politicians to ban DJI. Lobbying is how most things are done at the Capitol.

It's perfect for that. I used my Dji Mini 2 to inspect my mom's solar panel brackets. If you turn the video resolution down you get 4x digital zoom. And you can fly only a few feet away pretty safely once you get the hang of it. So you can see plenty close.

These deals are great for new drone buyers. But they are missing out by not offering a deal for just the drone. I already have a Mini 2 with the same controller, I would totally pay $250-300 for a Mini 3 without the controller
