Non-Inverter, 115v. I had the 12k version of this and it worked very well. I eventually upgraded to the LG 14k Inverter unit.

With all LG units If you live by the Coast with High Humidity you will need to do some prep work.

Your Compressor, Condenser Coil and Pan are going to rust all to hell.

You will need to either drill a hole in the bottom to let the water escape OR use something like RectorSeal Gulfcoat. I've have LG units for many years and all of them failed the exact same way with rust and corrosion. Just ate the lower fins up that were constantly submerged in water. Copper tubing on the ends of the Condenser Coil corroded and began to leak. Compressor Had heavy rust all over it. Pan/tray had rust all in it and looked like mud. Wash it out and the rust comes right back. This is due to constant water in the pan from a humid environment.

Gulfcoat(or similar product) or Drill baby Drill if you want more than a year out of the unit. A good extended warranty will help.

I'd prefer the Midea 12k U. Slightly less BTU but just let it run and do its thing.

Rust, mold, corrosion, mildew, sludge, extra humidity, debris and noise. These will destroy your ac faster. Not worth the extra efficiency from the sling. Don't forget the bugs, particularly mosquitos.

I've got the Midea12k in my insulated garage and it gets colder in the garage than in my house. The thing is awesome and was super easy to setup.

For this price no reason not to buy a Midea U-Shaped 10k BTU inverter. The energy saving would make up the difference, if you even pay more than this for it, rather quickly.

I'm not a big fan of LG units. Since my compressor in my mobile home went out I've had many, MANY, different brands and LG always seems to fail the loudest and just generally be louder even when operating properly.

I have a GE 14K in the kitchen that is 115v and it was whisper quiet compared to the 8k LG unit I had in my bedroom that recently failed and was replaced by Midea, which is even quieter than the GE.

I bought the 8,000 BTU version of this AC and it was consistently noisy, rattling and shaking everytime the condenser started. I installed it correctly but the noise came from inside the AC. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Some sites show the same model as not having wifi or Bluetooth while Home Depot had it in the title and specs that it does. Home Depot modified the title and no longer lists wifi.

I imagine because modern windows are bigger and double-paned, and so heavier windows compared to 40+ yrs ago. Requires a little extra engineering if you want it to slide vertically vs horizontally.
I remember getting rid of a bunch of 5-10lb counter-weights for the windows when our family bought an old fixer-upper.
In what way is this actually an adequate response to the oc? Vertical windows seem to be less common, yet companies specifically make window air conditioners for those type of windows. That's the point. Your comment is completely unhelpful. Should have left it alone.

I misread, my bad. It's kind of weird why you seem so personally offended.

The price shown here is one, but when you enter the home depot website, the price is normal, but the price shown here is low.
