I think this is a pretty hot deal.

For the 1st anniversary for Street Fighter 6, they are discounting the game 50% for all editions (Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate).

On top of that, the Year 1 Character and Ultimate Passes are 35% off too, which brings them down to $19.50 and $32.50 respectively, which may be the first time we've seen the passes go on sale like this.

These deals are set to last until June 17 it appears, however, they're currently only available on Steam, Playstation and Xbox (in the United States at least).

Steam (PC):

Xbox:

If you play and want to use the new characters, I think it's worth. If you only main one character and don't plan on using the new characters, it might not be.

So is the Ultimate version NOT going to include the Year 2 stuff? If so I'll probably hold off until a complete edition is on offer. Would be nice to have but in no rush to play it.

Not a bad plan if you are not in a rush. But the game is pretty great imo and lots of players online. If the previous SF titles are accurate, there would be a number of years wait since the game would have at least 3-4 seasons/iterations worth of characters and DLC.

100% agreed, if you're a SF player that just wants to play arcade, world tour and casually at home and don't enjoy experieincing the game at it's peak multiplayer then just wait. For the rest of us competitive sweats, it's one of the best time ever for playing against other players online. Great net code, great entry lvl systems, constant content and updates. Lots of things you can pick on like cost of optional DLC but the core gameplay is what we're here for and it's great especially after SFV.

I think i'm too old. I used to play sf2 all the time back in the 90s. even have some sf2 arcade 1up cabinets. I loved sf2. I really liked sf4 also.

i downloaded this. fired it up, next thing you know its asking me to create an avatar and i'm like...nope. why can't i just get to a character select screen and fight? requested a refund in like 15 minutes.

I also have been playing SF for over 30 years and can understand your point. This game has a lot of options, you can just go straight to the character select screen to fight the computer or other players (called "Fighting Grounds) and totally ignore the whole create the avatar thing if you want, that's what I did initially. But it's not intuitive at the beginning so I just made the default avatar and went on with my business.

This is still one of my most favorite Street Fighter main line game of the series because Capcom put a lot of polish and optimization, specifically giving it amazing netcode for online play (the first true SF with amazing online experience imo) and making it very accessible to beginner players with "Modern" Controls and fun modes for those that don't want to play competitively online.

You refunded a game because you didn't want to spend 3-5 min creating a character? Seems like you didn't want to play the game that much to begin with. I'm not that young either and this is definitely a silly reason to get disgruntled enough to scrap it and refund.

No, it is not. The game is very woke. Also, the ability to alter the fight with the new special moves is very cheap to utilize in a fight. The game sucks.

This game is a disgrace to the arcade original. Just played it and beat it with Ryu. I'm an old timer arcade gamer. This game sucks worse than a hooker. No Akuma, no bison, no balrog, no Vega.. very few characters... what is this online play bs??? What a joke. This game is worth 20 bucks at best.

Like everything else, the business changed for the business. They can add more to the game or as they decided, take away things and pretend to add it later in the name of dlc. It's a sad state of affairs. I decided to move forward from games bc of the theater put on. It's an unregulated industry where anything can be said and done. With life to live, video games just pick 1-2 good games and move on. Complete edition at $30. Wait a few years.
