Sigh. On board RAM (soldered). I imagine no empty slot to upgrade. 8GB not good enough for future needs, even if it "gets me by" for now.

LPDDR5, whenever we see LP, it means no upgrade.

To be fair, 8GB ram with Gen4 NVME is not that bad. Swap is very very fast. I have an 10th Gen intel company laptop with 8GB ram still in use. At any given time >30 Chrome tabs are opened and I rarely felt it was slowed down. Maybe the SSD will die early though, so make good backup.

But 8gb is not really targeting power users, so it is still a perfectly good deal.

Not at this price and coupled with HP's abysmal build quality.

Its soldered to the motherboard. It cannot be user upgraded. I checked HP's website.

I am well aware that the LP means there is soldered RAM. Believe this or not, some units have an additional empty or pre-filled slot (non-soldered) besides the soldered in RAM.
So as far as I know, this could have 8GB stick soldered and an empty slot, or 4GB soldered and 4GB replaceable.

I could not confirm by briefly searching the model out on Google or Youtube though. There may be an empty bank, but I wouldn't "expect" it.

I'd upgrade the SSD for sure. Have some 2TB drives, brand new. I often keep 30-50+ tabs open. My current laptops have slower cpus though. Thanks for your input.
