I got this one from the last SD, I love it.
Finally I'm getting more accurate metrics from my non-running workouts.

What do you mean about the non-running workouts?

IS this the top of the line garmin strap at this point? My Venu 3 wrist HR is pretty good, but I do use an old garmin strap when I want real accuracy.

Told myself I'd get a new strap when one of the awesome ones with extra metrics + the ability to store a workout on it without the watch present (for wrestling or juijitsu).

I see it listed as "Captures running dynamics, such as vertical oscillation, ground contact time, stride length, vertical ratio and more "

and "Stores heart rate data during swimming or other activities out of range of your watch then automatically sends the data to your compatible Garmin watch when the activity is finished "

and even "Computes pace and distance for treadmill or indoor track workouts "

so it seems to check all my boxes. My Venu already does some running dynamics (and I also have a stryd pod), so im wondering if this is much better.

For $90 ill give it a shot I think.

Showing to be $96 on my end. Is there a code you need to put in?

This is a great deal. These straps are a must if you want accurate HR data. It's amazing how your heart rate graph will go from spiky with data all over the place to a smooth curve. I don't train without mine. After a while these do wear out but Garmin support has also been amazing about warranty replacement the times I've needed them.

Do you mean the strap wears out or the device itself?

How much more accurate is this compared to a wrist heart rate monitor?

The straps. After a while no matter how diligent you are about rinsing and washing the straps just wear out. I've also had the actual sensor pads start to come loose from the strap. I will add that I'm probably on the heavy end of use - average 5 days / 8 hours a week of running, if not more. I'd say typically I get 2 years before they fall apart (and again, Garmin support is GREAT, just call them and they'll either send a replacement or a very discounted rate for one.)

You can also pair this directly to Zwift for virtual running for those days you're stuck on a treadmill and it will capture HR, speed, and cadence directly from the strap.

Thanks! Was hoping it wasnt the device itself. I can see there maybe being aftermarket straps if garmin ends up not having replacements.

Ive used apple watch for HR for years but really would love some better data.
