here you go.... - to change your op to my verbiage, just quote me (but don't reply) and copy and paste all the stuff and replace your op. nice deal

The $999 fare is a great deal, and I can attest that the IcelandAir lounge in KEF is one largest and most comfortable I've been in.

Thinking of visiting Iceland and Europe? Add a stopover in Iceland on your way to Europe for up to 3 nights in Economy Light for no additional airfare! For up to 7 night stays, upgrade to Economy Standard. Icelandair is having a Europe flight sale with round trip airfares starting from $349 to destinations like Amsterdam (AMS), Berlin (BER), London (LGW) and more. This network-wide sale is valid for departures from September through April 2025. Sample below.

Looking for NY to Rome and I can never find the deals on most of these. Seems like maybe there are only a few tickets.

Icelandair was a great airline for my previous travels to Europe. Even the layovers in Iceland were surprisingly pleasant.

Definitely recommend if these airports fit your travel agenda.

No lie flat. Icelandair doesn't have any lie flat product. Think First Class seat on your flight from Chicago to Omaha.

The key here is the free Iceland layover for a few days.
Catch a ride to Europe and layover for hotel cost only in Keflavik or Reykjavik.
That's a great deal for a Europe trip. I can see a 10 day Europe trip costing much less than expected at these rates.

How does this work? So you can pay one rate, let's say Boston to Barcelona round trip, but add a stop in Iceland for a few days, then continue on to Barcelona? Same price?

Correct... typically people layover for like 48 hours and do something like the Golden Circle tour and Blue Lagoon (tourist trap if you ask me!). It's a great country if you like the outdoors, tons of great hikes. Exploration is very easy and you feel like you're actually 'out there'.

The wife and I did a 2 week self-drive loop of the ring road a few years ago... in October! Nobody around and highly recommended.

A couple notes on Iceland / stopovers.

First, Keflavik airport is a 40 minute ride/drive from Reykjavik. The bus is $60-70 round trip into the city.

Second, a lot of the secondary attractions and interpretive centers (smaller museums) close for the season on Sept 30th. If you're going to party and board a bus full of tourists to the popular, crowded attractions, or booking local all-inclusive tours onto the glaciers, you won't notice (except in your wallet).

Third, if you're going to drink, alcohol is expensive. Like $9-10+/pint. It may be one of the few places that picking up alcohol in the duty free shop before you leave the airport is actually a slick deal.

Yep, I did this back in the early aughts when Iceland was mostly empty. I'm taking my in-laws to Ireland and sold them on 3+ days in Iceland. We'll do a day on the South Coast, a day for the (probably touristy by now) Golden Circle, and our first day we'll do the Blue Lagoon and see some of Reykjavik and maybe some other things.

It sounds like the Blue Lagoon is not what I remember from 20 years ago but hopefully it hasn't gotten *too* touristy.

Thank you so much! Booked a roundtrip to Rome for $1,333 for Septemper, two people! Needed to use my points and $300 Cap One credit.

Always had interest in Iceland after Netflix's Eurovision movie lol - yaya Ding Dong. I know it wont be a visit to Iceland, but would be super happy with my wife to experience the landscapes from birds eye view for now.

Thank You again!

Nope... just non-alcoholic beverages.

That said, I did book BOS to FAE (Faroe Islands) for October. $430 pp was a pretty good deal.
