If it's your first printer? Go with the A1 mini.

Really depends. The Bamboo will mostly "just work" from the get-go, for a higher price.

That means you'll be missing out on learning.
if you're young and still can learn, go with this.

Ebay photo shows filament attached to the unit. Does this actually come with filament? I read everything but can't seem to find the answer.

Edit: If it does not come with filament, can you all recommend a cheap option, for a first time user, to just see if I like 3D printing?

for filament?

some kind of PLA or PLA+ Most any brand is fine, but Overture, Sunlu are two brands I have good luck with. "Silk" PLA is really pretty, but behaves alittle differently, so if you are looking for a first roll, go for a regular PLA of some sort.

It wont, especially this is a refurbished. PLA is cheap. Cost less than 15 bucks on Amazon

These are work horses that run surprisingly well and fast for being an Ender iteration. The inclusion of belt linked dual z and a hot end pcb, along with the y linear rails are all really nice touches for an entry level price.

With that said, there are caveats:

Single sided part cooling can cause artifacts (print a better cooling system, splice new fans into the original fan's connector)

The hot end is design flawed, like previous enders, although you'll probably have a few months to a few years of printing before any issues show up (eventually the ptfe tube allows filament into gaps, causing extrusion issues). Personally I replace mine with ceramic heating block all metal ones fairly soon anyway.

No Klipper on board, but this can be a positive compared to spending more upfront and getting something locked in (and possibly under powered). I'd rather buy something separate and have control over my Klipper install.

No 3rd party pre-tuned custom firmware (yet). There's some really nice custom firmware for ender v2s that among other things unlocks linear advance directly in marlin. No such luck here. Not an issue if you intend to add a Klipper board.

The bed leveling is nice, the lack of spring loaded bed screws is nice… but you'll get even better results if you use the bed leveling to calculate how much you need to add to the corners of the front or back (using washers/etc), then tune right/left by de-coupling the right side z-axis and adjusting it appropriately. You'll still want to then use bed leveling, but getting it mechanically level to the print head motion system makes more of a difference.

Short of getting a bent z rod, bad leveling sensor, etc, these run fine enough out of the box. They do require tightening the belts appropriately, but that's it if you aren't asking for more than basic prints from it. Like earlier Enders, they're very repairable/easy to mod.

Have you tried the E3v3? Mine has just worked out of the box for 6 months. The auto bed leveling and auto z offset have worked flawlessly and make the machine completely turn key. I'm guessing most folks recommending the bamboo are thinking of the older ender 3s.

Don't have a bamboo mini, but seems like apples and oranges comparison if you need the build volume the mini isn't going to cut it.

I'm not sure I agree with the learning part. There is still lots to learn even with a bambu as someone's first printer. Filament types, hotend types, accessories both printed and bought, slicing, maintenance, design, and more.

Ender 3 is a printer for the type of person who enjoys the process of crafting something more than the results of their work. An example would be that I mow my lawn and it looks like crap but I pay people to clean my house. I don't care what my yard looks like I just like being outdoors and cutting grass sometimes, it's relaxing. Cleaning my house just annoys me, I just want it clean and I'm happy to pay others for that end result.
