All their HDDs were used in datacenter or enterprise settings for about 5 years. Assume they were on the entire time. This means they are all about 44,000 hours. They could have fewer hours than that though, and possibly some more (up to 6 years of use).

I have 7 of the 12TB drives from these guys and have had nothing but a solid experience with them, the drives are a little louder than most people like but it doesn't make this any less of a good deal in my opinion.

I have 7 of the 12TB drives from these guys and have had nothing but a solid experience with them, the drives are a little louder than most people like but it doesn't make this any less of a good deal in my opinion.

I've bought a lot of drives from GoHarddrive and had great luck with them. However the 2 I just picked up from this Newegg deal (last week), 1 of them was DOA and did nothing but buzz when powered on. Looks like Newegg is only offering a refund as well and not a replacement, which is disappointing, as it's not very clear, and I don't want to order another and return it if they do in fact send a replacement.

They probably were offering a refund rather than replacement since they were sold out, I wanted to pick up another one and couldn't due to availability.

I was worried about the refurb, but 5 year warranty is nice.

I was going to wait on the 18TB WD Gold, but its $300 on sale.

I bought 2 of these (one for storage and one for backup)

Got 3 last time... 17,000 hours on one and 35,000 hours on the other two. Just make sure you have plenty of redundancy and these are a great deal.
