As someone who has been on the dji train for 8 years, I'd suggest looking at the dji RC variant.

The mobile app compatibility has been incredibly hit and miss over the years on both Android and iOS, and if a ban goes through who knows if app support will dry up.

Get it set up to where the firmware works on all the components (including the batteries) and never let it touch the internet again.
The Costco deal doesn't include the RC2 remote. That's a significant difference.
Costco has it for 300 with a few additional items!

Better deal at Costco. Added accessories but at the lower price of $299. Advertised as $100 off for manufacturers savings.

Does it not require periodic Fly safe database updates?
Given mine is an app/phone controlled one, but there have been times it wouldn't takeoff without updating

Yes Costco has it but the deal does not start till the 19th and I plan on buying one
I have the DJI mini 2 that I use a few times a year. Do you think the Costco deal is worth upgrading? I kinda want to pull the trigger but I'm not so sure 🤔

I think the mini 3 pro is the worthwhile upgrade. The mini 3 base seems very minor and not much was done with the 12mp image sensor. Slight airtime increase and a couple other things you probably wouldn't notice if you only fly a few times a year.

Mine have warned that the database is out of date, but haven't restricted flight unless it was an area the database already designates as restricted. Are you using go 4?

I disagree for the price you get a much better camera sensor. The pros going to cost you $300 more which is the price of another drone. And if you get it at Costco you get a memory card which is no big deal but you get the filters also. I had the mini too but I will be purchasing the mini three when it's on sale for the up graded image sensor the same one that's in the mini 4 and the mini 3 pro

I have the original Mini, so it uses the Fly app
I might be mis remembering- maybe it just limited to max altitude/distance.
I've always made an effort to update before flying since I had the issue a year+ ago
