Just read up on "Hall effect." Apparently the thumb sticks use magnets instead of a traditional mechanical construction. This apparently extends the life of the controller by eliminating the early onset of stick drift.
I own this controller. It has both 2.4 ghz and Bluetooth capabilities. It does not have gyro control and it has Xbox style button setup.
If you are playing for switch games and need gyro you probably want the "Bluetooth" version for switch (also has 2.4 ghz dongle support) which is slightly more expensive and comes only in black and white. That one has Nintendo switch button layouts and has gyro and a big battery and has hall effect.

It's super hard to tell. Looks like the same listing originally had a different version. Comments say no Bluetooth but the picture of the front of the box says Bluetooth in the lower left....

I cannot reason myself to get this when xbox controller can be had at a cheaper price.
If you wish you can get 8Bitdo dongles that allow you to use the xbox controller for other consoles, especially the one starts with "N".
Be careful that their dongle does not provide battery indicator(I guess that make sense because other consoles treat it like a wired controller).
Hall effect joysticks, I've had Xbox controllers go back with stick drift within months of buying. These won't do that.

Ya I saw that also, but no other mention of it

Is the Bluetooth version better for the Switch? If it connects better, seems worth ~$10 more.

Tempted to make an impulse buy here but I only use Steam and I usually go kbm so controller is occasional use only but my Xbox 360 controller does have some annoying drift. A quick web search (I'm still looking) suggests some past (?current) compatibility issues. Any user comments?

I play multiple systems and not having to swap dongles all the time is a huge convenience. I do not own one of these so I cannot say how good it works.

I use this pretty exclusively for steam and have had no issues. Just an anecdote, obviously.

Thanks, everything else seems solvable but I missed that point about the motion controls!

Very good controller, but the LB / RB buttons are much more firm of a press than I'd like them to be. Wish they were more like the XBOX Controller bumpers.

"Why would anyone buy a steak when a Big Mac is considerably cheaper?!"
