Even the canless are a pain as they come with a box. The new builds these days have super flat wafer style lights that have like 3" of space. To get these to fit you'll be ripping out the entire housing and installing a new one + wiring + drywall. I tried it in my house that was built in late 2023.
Note this doesn't come with the hue bridge, so if you're just getting started down this path you'll need to buy another pack or the standalone bridge for $30.
1100 LMN for anyone else wondering, did not show this info in SD app.

Should be fine, i think their new Hue individual e26 bulbs are also 1100

Are these a hassle to retrofit if I have the flat LED cans now - not the old school cans with bulbs ?

There was a 20% coupon available on my account, so my order was $128.27 shipped. I have been slowly replacing my existing LED recessed downlights with these Hue recessed downlights, which are very easy to install. This will put me at 14 recessed downlights, and even my wife likes them. The elderly neighbors probably think we are weird.

Even then, I realized YMMV depending on what type of cans were installed in your home. I purchased these in the recent sale, thinking that the spring clamps would work with my kitchen's recessed cans, but nope - what I needed for a painless install was the "claw" type. I am currently deciding if I should replace my cans, DIY for fit, or return.

Everyone complaining about these fitment of these lights, would they be fine as a new light install in a room (not replacement), or is the spring type just that bad where it does not sit flush

I'm not a fan of these rgb smart lights. There is always a mixup between your physical switch and your phone setting.

Stick to a 5 CCT light so you can choose which color temperature fits your space best and then get a simple switch. There are some nice non-WiFi ones that have extra features such as sensor ones, timers, multi location switches, etc.

Aren't these designed to simply replace the CAN? I have 16 in my home today and that's all I did.remove the old CAN and replace with these. Literally 2 minute upgrade. I just ordered 4 more to finish our home.

I installed 4 of these in an old house where there were no cans or lights before. You have to install remodel cans first and then install these inside the cans. These cant be installed directly into ceilings. It doesnt have that spring type of mechanism. Dont buy unless your cans are 5-6in. These can fit in both 5in as well as 6in cans. I installed these in 5 in cans and it worked fine. Happy to answer more questions since I am just done with the project. In addition, if you dont want to wire a physical switch and say you have power in the ceiling, you can extend the power from the ceiling and put a wireless dimmer switch. Thats what I did.

These ones are actually designed to fit into cans vs the slim/canless ones. Glad to hear you figured out a solution for yours though.

Bought these for a net new install. Now I'm thinking I may return for some of the super slim lights and put them on Lutron switches.

LEDs bulb have gotten stupid expensive lately. I guess all the subsidies have dried up? Tractor supply was charging $16 for 2 regular led bulbs last week. Homedepot is also charging double what I paid a couple years ago.
