Only thing worth $6 at OG is the unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks.

Is this even a deal? I'm fairly certain that this is there normal price for take home meals that they've had for a VERY long time. Hell, if I'm not mistaken a few years ago these same take home meals used to be $5.

This isn't as much of a deal, as it is just an advertisement.

You are correct. It was $5 for years and not that long ago, it was changed to $6, no coupon needed.

This place got too expensive, $12.99 for spaghetti and sauce, that's $3 to make at home.

I'm in the minority here but I think this is a great deal. You can do a "Create your own pasta bowl" for $13 then get a take home for $6 so for around $20 out the door after tax we recently had a 4 cheese rigatoni (or ziti, something like that), fettucine alfredo, a salad more than big enough for 2 people, breadsticks, and some little mint chocolates. They brought it right out to our car...it was very convenient. And there was so much food my wife used the leftovers for her work lunch the next day, which saved an additional $4.

It looks like the kid's meal method still works. So you can do a $6.99 kids meal and pair it with a $6 Take Home entree.

Not saying you are totally right or wrong, but imo it's a pretty fair price. $3 is a bit low. Spaghetti is $1, sure, but meat sauce (with actual meat, not just meat flavored) is going to be at least $4-$5, and that's for a premade, lowest-end jar from Walmart which I'd venture to say is of slightly lesser quality (given OG claims theirs is prepared daily).

$12.99 includes unlimited salad and breadsticks, which I'd say is worth at least $2-$3. A side salad at most restaurants is at least $3.99 for the most basic, and probably doesn't include more expensive ingredients like the pepperoncini, olives, grated parmesan (parm is expensive). You could eat just that if you wanted to and take your pasta home as leftovers.

Not even factoring in time/effort, electricity, cleanup/soap, etc, I think it's a fair value, especially considering you're going out for an experience w friends/family, and the business has overhead - paying rent, employees wages and benefits, air conditioning, taxes, etc. Competitors like Carabba's charge $18.09 for spaghetti w meat sauce, Cheesecake Factory is $19.95 for tomato basil pasta (no meat).

I have too much time on my hands lol, but point is, all things considered and especially in 2024, I don't think $12.99 is "expensive" by any means. In 1994, I'd have a different opinion because you could get 10 cheeseburgers at McDonald's for $3.90. Now a single cheeseburger is $2.99.

For families that are struggling, I get it, you can get "pretty close" to this, without salad and breadsticks at home for half the price and feed more mouths. Just saying this is comparably "not bad".

You want to die an early death, always eat here. This place has one of the worst reputations for unhealthy "healthy" dishes. They are loaded with butter, trans fats, and a ton of salt. Trust me you do not want to eat here. Unless you want an early death by heart disease.
Look up oxidative stress and know that oxygen is killing us slowly with every. single. breath. 😁

What is "gross" about searing beef in a pan? 🤨
