It's about time for UI to refresh their lineups so I would expect to see this and the non-pro version of this NVR discounted over the next 6 months. We saw the same thing happen with the Unifi Dream Machine Pro last year and earlier this year prior to the launch of the UDM Pro Max. I expect we'll see the UNVR Pro selling for $300-350 or less on the secondhand market.
If you need 4/5 cameras might just get the G5's and BUY the NVR
I can't belive how expensive the cameras are
Never had any issues with my cheaper ones from the likes of Eufy but the reason I was looking at this is honestly I am kind of done with Ring and want to replace some Ring cameras.

There are a lot of comparisons of the G5 Pro and G4 Pro. The G5 Pro is not dramatically different from the G4 Pro. Over all, the G5 Pro has slightly better night vision...but this comes maybe at a cost of audio performance since the G4 Pro has better audio. The G5 Pro is IP65 rated and the G4 Pro is IP67 rated. The G4 pro only does 24 fps at 4k. The G5 pro does 30 fps at 4k. The G4 pro is capable of HD quality at 50 fps through the app though. The G5 Pro has an option for a flood light attachment. It also had (maybe still does) a known issue with a 1-2 second delay with video and audio. I think the IP rating and cheaper CPU probably are driving the cheaper cost compared to the G4 Pro.
I'd take either as a free cam but the better audio on the G4 Pro and potential video/audio delay on the G5 Pro are reasons the G4 Pro is still compelling. That said, I already had a Ubiquiti AP / router system so these cams were a good choice to stay in the unifi ecosystem. Anyone that specs these cameras will realize they use small sensors compared to Dahua/Hik (G4 Pro and G5 Pro are both 1/2" (0.5") sensors). I'm not sure the value-prop is there for someone looking for the best image quality at the cheapest cost in a new system.
