I don't have this and don't know about this one, but from my experience with this oven style ones, I prefer not to buy since they're very hard to keep clean specially if you make wings or anything that shoots oil drops to the walls

I have it, I like it... It replaced our recalled insignia unit and works better... One big thing for me that I like is the end timer beep is not insanely loud like the old unit. I went back and forth on what to get and glad I bought this... The fry basket spins is great to cook fries evenly, but sort of a pain to remove since it's giant, round and burning hot. Overall, I would buy it again and I paid $80 for it.

Not sure how you're seeing $59, OP. I bought this in warehouse for $79 (after $20 rebate) yesterday and returned it today. Upon unboxing it last night, I realized how incredibly cumbersome the design is — the basket handle has to be removed in order to close the door, which makes it a burn hazard every time you cook. That, and the way it's designed (basically a microwave toaster oven) makes it a bitch to clean. Plus there are just way too many little pieces. Picked up the $50 Gourmia today instead. Air fryers should have removable baskets that are easy to clean. Sur La is trying to do far too much with the x#-in-1 concept which makes this appliance more burdensome and impractical.

OP is confusing the price. In store price and online price probably the same. The rebate is from the manufacturer and is $20. They don't give you additional $20 on top of that just because you plan to buy it in store.

I went from a basket gourmia to this and I'm not sure I like it. I really wanted a tray air fryer because I thought it would be more convenient to use and clean vs a basket. However, I didnt realize that when I pull the tray out to flip the food if its something like chicken or something juicy all the juices will just fall out in front of the air fryer. It's not like there something in front of the air fryer to catch the juices. Overall, I've found myself using the air fryer much less since the upgrade.
I second this, it does drip; I just lay down a plastic place mat in front of the air fryer and wipe/ wash it after. But I wouldn't say I use it less now compared to before.

I had a philips before and the wire basket was honestly a PITA to hand clean especially if it was marinated, so I usually just threw it in the dishwasher. The thing is I only run the dishwasher once every 1-2 days so that's the limiting factor right there.

With this air fryer, I either use both trays and hand wash them (takes like 3 seconds) or more often I only need 1 tray, in which case I can easily rotate between the two trays. I find myself able to use it more when I need to, not to mention the other attachments that come with it.

Online price says add 4.99 for shipping so in store and online prices are likely the same

My wife is an extremely good cook and loves cooking. I would not enjoy making her eat my culinary disasters.

Would this be considered an oven style or basket style?

Have had this for 6+ months. Used to have a Gourmia with the door that opens down like an oven and wire mesh trays. This one is much easier to keep clean since crumbs/grease doesn't fall into the hinges and onto the door when removing food and the trays rinse easily.
The door opens > 90° to be out of the way.
This unit runs at a significantly lower volume than our last, so we can have a conversation in the kitchen without being annoyed by it.
Use it multiple times a day, would buy it again.
