I mean I bought roomba couple years ago and it was disappointing... but was glad to be able to return .
So just wondering what is woots return policy
"it's an ultra powerful whole home vacuum on carpets and floors that empties its own dustbin."
But I don't see anything in the images or description about the self-emptying feature. Is it true that it self-empties or is that a lie?

The cheaper option is just the robot that comes with a single water/vacuum combo bin
The more expensive option is this robot + charging base + two different bin: The water/vacuum combo bin (incl in the cheaper option) as well as a regular non-mop bin that the shark can then self-empty into the base.
See: https://www.sharkclean.
The machine itself has a detachable "butt" - you either attach the water/vacuum bin OR you can swap it out for a traditional vacuum bin that does not mop.
The water/vacuum bin attachment will make the shark mop and vacuum always and at the same time. It vacuum first into a compartment and then wets the mop and mop it behind the vacuum. The water/vacuum bin attachment is not self empty. To clean it, you take off the attachment (think of the butt of the robot falls out) and there's a little lid you open - and all the dust vacuumed will be there that you'll have to manually clean out with a wet paper towel or something. Then you'll have to manually wash the mop pad.
I believe this is just the first/cheaper option that does not come with the base and probably not the non-mop bin.
I went for the more expensive option. So, I always do a traditional non-mop run since the robot will know it's a non-mop and self-empty into the base - then I swap it out for a mop run so the floor is already clear of debris that needed to be vacuumed so I don't have to manually clean the compartment as often.
The phone app has 2 modes - the regular vacuum mode and and wet mopping mode. Depending on which attachment is attached to the machine, your shark phone app will switch the mode accordingly. For mopping mode you can specify "carpet zones". It's a bit clunky - once you have mapped out your home, you can then draw carpets and telll the robot to go verify. The robot will go to where it thinks your carpet is based on the rectangle you draw and walk around it with a little light that marks the "boundary" of the carpet, which it'll avoid if it's really mopping that room. Then you can re-adjust the carpet rectangle on your phone if the robot walk was incorrect, say if you drew the carpet too small or too large. It takes a couple of tries to get it right and each time the robot goes home before you can edit the carpet again and have it reverify (which then it leaves the base and walk back out) but it does the job.
It's definitely not as advanced as Roborock's auto detect - but I didn't want to pay $1000+ for a robot vacuum and this is a set it once after multiple tries and never the move the carpet again kinda thing.
I've got a janky Xiaomi that's been constantly spazzing out ever since I installed a third party battery. This one...can't be worse??

My Roomba 900 series sounds like it's grinding gears and replacment rollers / brushes and filters go for $35-$50 every few months.
I also like Shark but hesitant on their robobvacs.
