Wrong point. The point is that this is not reasonably forty eight percent off.
Horrible reviews. Poor building quality. Bad manufacturer support.

Nice laptop but the msrp is wack. Look at the 14" by comparison. no one is paying $1500 for this.

Edit: the street value of this laptop is much below $1,550 so take that into consideration when purchasing.

Silly statement. Which windows laptop is anyone buying at msrp these days? Maybe the new snapdragon co-pilot +, but that's a new class of laptops that is supposed to be a substantial change.
The book4 pro 16 msrp is 1550 and now selling for 1250.
Yes, look at the 14. It's selling for a little more than this.

Right, but starting price is much more in line.

I have no clue what point you are trying to make. it's getting more senseless by the post. 48% off what?? The MSRP? Yes, it sure is 48% off MSRP. 48% off the current street value? Well, duh, of course not, this is a generation old laptop.

But like I said, the latest generation book4 pro 16 has a similar msrp and currently selling only a little bit less than that. Samsung is usually pricier than other brands. I am not saying whether they are worth it or not, but it is what it is.
It's silly to compare the price of a 14" to a 16". It's like comparing a compact suv to a full size suv for pricing.

I am sorry that you are so agitated by a stranger's opinion on the internet.

To make it clear, the 14" model is $819 and shows discounted from less than $1000 ("street value"?). This model is $799 discounted from $1,550. I think a fair price is around $1200. I ended up purchasing the $799 FWIW.

Also, these laptops are nearly identical specs wise so not quite the SUV analogy.

And I can see you are quite the newbie in shopping for laptops on SD if you really care about what the msrp is. If you truly know what you are doing, you won't even look at msrp. I have been following laptop prices for 2 years now. I know what the value of each laptop is without the manufacturer having to tell me. If you use that msrp for comparison, you are exactly the kind of consumer these companies love.
BTW, to be fair, the msrp listed for the 16 is actually msrp. The old price listed for 14 is "typical price", not msrp. It's quite rare for Amazon or any retailer to list "typical price" of a laptop. Again, neither should matter to anyone on SD.

Wait till you see Lenovo ThinkPad msrp pricing.

I have been following the book3 pro14 since it first came out. I can tell you without a doubt the "starting price" of the 14 was definitely not "under $1000". It was around $1400.

I'd argue that this community has saved me from thinking I was getting a 48% discount when I was new.

Such unselfish thinking you bring to the table.

$1500 MSRP for an i5? I would've expected at least an i7 for this kind of MSRP money. The sale pricing is pretty much in line but I don't think the MSRP is definitely worth 1500.

Overpriced at msrp yes definitely, but the quality is fantastic. Have the maxed out 14 inch ($500 open box with the i7) as my travelling light laptop and it runs. Even have a second ssd slot. I play civ 6 on it as well which is cool. So i guess the 16 is just bigger

Only pet peeve is the non full linux support.

One quality of life things are the apps if you happen to have a samsung phone.

Odd to hear that there's been poor reviews on build quality. I love my Samsung laptops - on par with any macbook from what I've experienced.
