Dont buy expensive shaver. Buy a cheap philips norelco and change every 6 months
I disagree as well. I bought my series 7 (790CC) from Amazon in 08/2014 for $178 after discount and have been using it daily since then. I have only had to change the shaver foil a few times over the years. Still shaves like the day I bought it! Definitely recommend the better shavers.

I'll pile on with everyone disagreeing. I have pretty sensitive skin so I try not to shave or shave when it gets really hot and itchy or I have a job interview. Got a Braun series 9 from Costco and I gotta say it's like night and day. I've been shaving every weekend (which is a lot for me) but it hasn't left my face red or feeling super raw. Before the Braun I had a Philips Norelco 7500 I got as a gift last Christmas and I used it twice and both times it left my face red. So I'm definitely a Braun fan.
I've been doing the cheap Phillips shaver for years now. Saw the Braun 9 series on sale at costco and went for it. Definitely worth the extra $. Rather buy 1 Braun 9 series than 4 cheap shavers.
Can anybody comment if I can pull the trigger on this or wait for 9 series?
If your budget is $100, then this is an outstanding deal. The differences between the 7 and 9 aren't that huge. Both are comfortable and effective and durable. But if you're willing to spend more, then waiting for a deal on the 9 series gets you the slightly more advanced razor -- bigger heads, bigger battery, more power. The slick deals for the 9 have been in the $130 to $150 range.
I bought a refurbished Braun 7680 from Amazon for $56 in January 2010 and it just keeps going. I replace the foil about every 3 years thinking, "THIS will be the last one."
I have a Braun but don't love it. Puzzled by how many like them but maybe skin types account for it. Actually prefer my old rotary Remington which is barely hanging on - or just blade shaving. Does foil shaving with foam help?

I turned into a bit of a shaver collector. The brauns and Panasonic made in Germany and Japan are all excellent whether top of the line or not. I hate all my china made models regardless of price- poor cutters that dull quickly with batteries that stop holding charge, they cause you to keep buying stuff and save nothing
