Bought the i5 version of this yesterday with the 4050. I'm stoked about it. 1080p screen, backlit kbd, number pad, and the screen is Gsync+
Don't forget the email trick to get an extra 10% off. I used my ID.me military discount for 5% off before I knew about the email, so there are options.
is intel preferred over amd for laptop cpu's nowadays?
Generally no. But it's still super fast if you're coming from an older device. Intel isn't as efficient with battery life and tends to run hotter than AMD atm.

Amex holders. Check your recent offers again. I got a 550+ spent, get 105 back. There is another dell.com offer: get additional 1 mile for each dollar spent, probably for the delta mileage card.
Still waiting for the G16 deal to come back at $849. Not sure why this is a deal at $899 or why they keep pushing this deal in various speccings over the last month.

It was under $800 recently in another layout.
If you use a 10% off coupon from signing up for emails it brings it to $810. That's the lowest price I've seen for this laptop with the 4060, 1tb hdd, the best screen they offer on this model, intel i7.

Not quite as good of a deal but if you're on a budget it's a decent savings for a bit less power.
