The prices you shared include the tax credit and is not the base price.

Updated the verbiage to remove "base price" as you're technically correct that the tax credit isn't part of the base price!

Without any credits or fuel savings, I see the price as $47,490 — same as yesterday.

Ignore the gas savings. While true, it's irritating that Tesla doesn't separate that out. Upfront cost is $47,940 - $7,500 fed tax credit = $39,560 (should be at point of sale so long as you qualify).

Obviously if you drive an ICE vehicle you will generate meaningful gas savings (and repairs/maintenance).

The car insurance increase—and the expensive repair cost—scared me away.

Obviously Elon needs more donations than his (just approved) 46 Billion Dollar payday.

You only pay $4 in gas per month? What do you do? Siphon gas from your neighbors?

I got a 3 on Dec 28. It has 3k miles. The paint is peeling off along the bottom-ish area on both sides of the car; the area below the doors. I think it's called a rocker panel

3k miles. 6 months old. Paint is peeling off.
Fun to drive but feels so cheap.

3k miles.

I've heard about the insurance rates being high. Mine isn't, but that's definitely a YMMV? But what expensive repair cost are you referring to?

Did you call in about that? What did they say?
