Also I would never EVER only buy a 2kwh unit since with 3kwh in total (can be across multiple units) gets you the 30% tax credit, so you can do this unit, or this unit+the extra battery for roughly the same price.

I THINK this says it's basically unlimited. At least with current law.

Great deal based on historical prices, but with the new Delta Pro 3 coming out and likely a new line of River and Delta 3 units I expect to see more price drops.

Is it worth waiting for one that can charge using a car charger?

Edit: to clarify, I mean an EV charger. The ones meant for electric cars. I believe the pro version has this capability

AFAIK you can only claim that credit once so if you intend to have a proper setup installed at some point.. don't waste it on a ~$1k tax credit when it could be more like ~$10k+

Prices are dropping so much so often. I've had multiple Ecoflow units, including this Delta 2 Max, for a year now. If you plan on using multiple charging inputs and doing anything more than basic EPS (like arbitraging electricity), the caveat I have is that Ecoflow software is extremely buggy. They are not ready for prime time at all.

Buggy how? I haven't really had any issues with my D2 and I've had it for ~1.5 yrs now

Huh, I guess you may be right - that seems new...

The credit has no annual or lifetime dollar limit except for credit limits for fuel cell property. You can claim the annual credit every year that you install eligible property until the credit begins to phase out in 2033.

I keep seeing different stuff about this tax credit stuff. So as long as a total 3kwh, as example if I buy delta 2max and 2 river pro I can get the tax credit correct?

Don't the units have to be installed (hardwired) to the house for the credit?

Backup Reserve didn't work correctly (not sure if this is fixed now, but too afraid to turn it on). Battery level is not accurate (sudden drop of 50% often; heard this is common in industry where you have to recalibrate BMS weekly). My solar inputs keeps changing to car input, even though I don't use any car input. If you try to use any of the Lab features to automate, the device acts up.(e.g. AC output keeps turning off). It works fine if simply charging and discharging like an EPS. I'm glad I didn't invest more into their other products, like Smart Home Panel, cause people are reporting nothing works the way it's supposed to. Definitely suffering from buyers remorse.

The only IRS guidance is the 3kWh for battery storage. Doesn't state anywhere that it has to be hardwired into your home.

When you make a reference to something that could affect the price and people may want to base a buying decision on the information, include the actual language and a citation for followup. We just saw that problem with the IRS requirements for the tax credit. That's how you avoid partisan reactions.

Yeah... I didn't think I needed to hand people a basic google search for stuff that was all over the news the past few weeks and somehow I doubt very seriously that would have stopped that weird ass response. This isn't some super secret thing, every major news outlet reported on it the past month

This is what I'm suggesting.-
From FACT SHEET: President Biden Takes Action to Protect American Workers and Businesses from China's Unfair Trade Practices | The White House
https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefi...practices/

"Batteries, Battery Components and Parts, and Critical Minerals

The tariff rate on lithium-ion EV batteries will increase from 7.5%% to 25% in 2024, while the tariff rate on lithium-ion non-EV batteries will increase from 7.5% to 25% in 2026. The tariff rate on battery parts will increase from 7.5% to 25% in 2024."

As you can see from the language, the tariff on Deltaflow lithium-oin battery products goes from 7.5% to 25% in 2026.

That timeline isn't going to affect purchase decisions for most on this product now or in the near future.

An interesting product combination adds the new 800w Alternator Charger to a Delta 2 Max for $1699 with a free 160w solar panel. https://ecoflow-tech.myshopify.co...7940250697
Or the 800w Alternator Charger to a Delta 2 for $999 with a free 110w solar panel. https://ecoflow-tech.myshopify.co...7943101513

Here's how to use the 800w Alternator Charger combo with your car in a power outage or camping.-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2tWguITtwM

Interesting is the use of this 800w Alternator Charger combo with any ev giant high voltage battery through the 12v car battery. The car automatically keeps the 12v battery charged. In a power outage you could run critical loads for days. Or indefinitely if you periodically recharge the car at a DC fast charger.
You've got that huge battery. Now you can use it. And it'll work for camping or running power tools at a jobsite.
