No I definitely don't see any reason manufacturers would be doing any kind of noticable clearance because of AI PCs.
They'll just rewrite the marketing material to put "AI" in 8-20 times.

I don't think addin NPUs are really out other than some niche market. Might eventually exist more mainstream but not yet. Right now the push for AI PC uses CPUs that have a NPU component in the CPU, so not a radical system change.

Do you think that computer manufactures will be clearing out inventory to get ready for AI PCs -- both desktops and laptops with NPUs? Do you think that NPUs will be offered as addon cards?

I think it is more likely that Copilot+ will run on what we currently call GPU's like RTX 40 and 50 series. It seems that is in the works for later this year. https://www.windowscentral.com/ha...ed-devices

This is the same deal that has made it to the front page a few times over the last couple of months right? I tried searching for an older thread to see if the specs were the same but didn't have any luck.

Is this worth it? Are there other PC that could be better from $/parts?

Not for "ai" but new cpus are coming later this year/early next year. Not to mention the recession we're in.

As another poster said, they can just put ai on the box/marketing

Bought this model never looked back! The difference with OP model is there is no easy side access to the parts of case vs i5-13400 case

https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-c...cpu-review

The 14th-gen Intel Core i5-14400 is an underwhelming and lackluster refresh of the prior generation, and the minor frequency tweaks don't equate to meaningful performance gains in real-world applications. However, pricing for Ryzen chips and motherboards has improved, making them the better option for builders looking for the best value.

the recent deal of a 3060 and i5 for $700 seems more my alley, but I still kinda wana hold out for a cheaper system I can put a 3060 card I already own in to upgrade it.
