Skip this and go for the new nova 5x. Game changer parametric EQ and improved mic, but it does not have simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4 like the nova 7x.

Agree. Since it's new the full price is $130 but from specs and reviews I feel like it will fit my needs better. It's lighter, better mic casting, longer lasting battery, and better range as per the reviews I saw. The biggest attractor for me is the lighter weight, better mic, and lower starting price, but the others are a bonus.

Sound quality, especially the bass, is mehh. Otherwise, the dual connectivity is great. Not sure why it's not on every headset now in this day and age. Even the $50 Anker VR P10 earbuds have it.

I can't seem to live without dual connectivity anymore.

I have the nova 7x and "lighter weight" wouldn't be a factor for me to "upgrade" because I never felt the 7x was heavy or uncomfortable in any sense. Just my 2 cents. (Same goes for battery, it'll last a few days without a charge after playing a few hours every day)

Got the 7x open box on a previous deal:

Excellent headset. The 3d sound is great for identifying enemy locations on Overwatch (with the steelseries software). Sound quality overall is good and I love the simultaneous Bluetooth. Highly recommend.

Simultaneous BT and 2.4G is what sells this. So convenient.
Battery life is also very decent.

Got it for $135 last year. This is a great headphone. Bass is somewhat lacking but overall reasonable.

Is there a reason to get the 5x instead of the 5 or 5p?

With the 7x/7p, the 7p only works with playstation while the 7x is advertised as xbox only, but works with both (I've got the 7x for that reason). Seems like the 5x product page even says compatible with both on the listing while the 5p does not. If you don't care about xbox support, go for the better deal, but if you ever switch between them it's super convenient to have a fully supported headset to share instead of needing two!

this headset is OK but it isn't great. I upgraded to it months ago from a 7P series that was having hardware issues.

I actually prefer the fit and feel of the 7P. the cups were bigger and the headset felt lighter. and the cup padding was better too. its not a bad price. but i've got some mixed feelings on this headset.

What do you use dual connectivity for?

Simultaneous connections with my PC with the dongle and my phone over Bluetooth for music and calls.
