Honestly, I don't think it moves a lot of air and it is pretty noisy. They are cheap and we've had two die after being used on and off for three summers. Debating if they value is there.

Been thinking about upgrading to a Vornado. But this thing doesn't die! Been going strong for 8yrs. Never took it apart. I just blast the dust off with a leaf blower. Pair these with smart plugs. Works way better than those fancy new fans that need remotes.

Actually I think this person got a broken one. Mine is very quiet with the low setting being almost silent. My wife likes white noise for sleeping and so she always has to turn the air purifier on because you can't hear this fan from 20 feet away, but you can feel it.

Look at it this way. Moving air makes some noise while moving lots of air makes lots more noise.

These create a breeze across 20ft. That means... Noise. Get a bigger fan and slower if you want quiet. It will also need to be closer.

Pick which features matter more. For me, these get the air conditioning balanced from the non-sunny side of the house to the sunny side...

Looks like the fan I have. These little turbines get pretty loud. And honestly feels like you're just kicking around hot air sometimes. If you want a fan, and can afford it, maybe get one of those nice bladeless designs instead.

Honestly not a bad little fan. I paid $40 for it back in the day. Just a pain to clean because the format isn't removable.

I have two and I pair them with smart plugs. It works great when I'm in my office and just yell 'fan on'!

Edited to add I got my first one 7 years ago. Still going strong.

They should have marketed it as a fan and white noise generator Smilie

I have had this fan for a few years and it works incredibly well. The air is super cool and is a great summer fan (it is 104f atm here fwiw) However, it is LOUD. I am used to it but it is super loud but not so loud that I hear it in the next room.

I bought one of these (an earlier model) in 2007 to get through college. It's lasted 17 years and is older than my kid. My brand loyalty to Honeywell for fans is through the roof. Buy this.

Had a family member who worked at Honeywell... yikes.

This is probably some cheap Chinese fan with Honeywell branding on it, but I'd do everything to not pad Honeywell's bottom line.
unfortunately this is the case with all these well known US companies. its not the 1980s any more.

No it makes a terribly loud noise on all speeds. Like it's ratting apart or something. I love fans to sleep but this keeps you up sometimes lol. I scored this a couple years back on clearance and yes it moves air but the noise isn't worth it tbh.

low for silent, medium for a soft bit of noise, and high for 'the neighbors are at it again'

I dont know what it is about this fan but i have confirmed this with MANY people... it's the ultimate white noise machine. all three of my kids were practically raised by this fan lol. and when i poined out one to some friends who have kids their immediate reply was 'you use it for noise too?'
