search reviews, many complain it's loud
which at this low price is not surprising.
Its low setting isn't that low is the problem, but it works ok otherwise.

I was one of many Slickdealers who stocked up on these fans a while ago, for around 8-9 dollars a piece. Not bad for white noise blowing in my face in bed, or during the fall, winter, spring ... and turn on the bigger guns in summer with the AC. Placement matters, and some people think it is weak, some that it is strong, some say too loud, some say to soft. Personal tastes vary, but most think it is good fan at certain times of the year and temp ranges, and if using with AC.
Now the super sales come and go , fans usually get discounted when it's off-season for fans. Buy it now, or buy one now, to see if you like it, and stock up with super sale. I did.

I have one of these. Doesn't move enough air. I wish I spent more $ and bought another vornado. Woot often has great prices on them.

yeah, like I said, it does depend of the time of year, the temp outside, and other factors. My order of fans is hand-held one with rechargable packs, this Honeywell,9inch one, Home and Garden retro fan (super sale for 15 dollars) the lasko Utility fan small for about 50 dollars, the lasko utility fan pro (more powerful), thelasko utility fan MAX (super powerful), ... I'm in florida, so us florida people love our fans and A.C. Smilie When it gets around 110 degrees you got to bring out the BIG GUNS! Smilie

In for two! I was gonna go with Wirecutter's Vornado pick for my new home office, but these are so cheap that if they don't work I'll just move them to the attic or the living room or something and go back to the Vornado.

Getting mixed answers about the diameter of the fan. Settling on 8" on the actual fan and 10" for the housing.
7-3/5" blade span and removable grill for easy cleaning.
Target clears them out at the end of summer, 8.95 last year. This is a table top model.
The larger blade models (HT908?), tend to break at the pivot points. Honeywell/Kaz looks like they've discontinued the floor model.

Specs for the HT900:

* There's a larger HF910 version now.

Honestly not a bad little fan. I paid $40 for it back in the day. Just a pain to clean because the format isn't removable.
There should be 6 (Phillips?) screws in the back to remove the cage. Never tried it but I've seen YT videos.

Owner's Manual: TurboForce High Velocity Air Circulators (HT-900, HT-908, HT-910, HPF820 Series)

Question: How do I clean my fan blades?

Answer:

Removal of the front grille for cleaning:
  • Unplug the fan before cleaning.
  • Lay the gently face down on a flat sturdy surface.
  • Locate the screws found on the back grille of the fan.
  • Using a Phillips Head screwdriver, loosen each screw by unscrewing each head to the left.
  • Once all screws have been loosened, slowly lift the fan into an upright position using the back carrying handle. Do not lift up to quickly as screws may fall out.
  • Separate the front grille along the seam where the screws were located.
  • Use a damp cloth to wipe the fan grilles and blade.

To reassemble the fan, collect all of the screws and lay the fan on its back.
  • Place the front grille onto the unit, lining up the notch in the grille, with the notch along the bottom of the fan.
  • Once the grille is aligned with the body of the fan, and each screw hole matches up, flip the unit to lay it face down on a flat surface.
  • Insert each screw into a hole and gently tighten each screw. Ensure that the front grille and the bottom of the fan are tightly secured together.

We use these in our kids rooms as white noise. Ideal because it is a manual speed setting. They are connected to a TP-Link plug for automation and have been chugging along since mid-2022. Highly recommend.

it really depends on where you live, which of the 4 seasons you are in, etc. Lots of people love Vornado. Maybe you should have posted which model you have, where you live, which of the 4 seasons you use it for. Just saying a fan is good, is too open ended.

here is my current favorite for spring, summer, fall, for PERSONAL USE (with or without A.C. on). It is selling for 49 dollars
Lasko 12" Utility Fan for Job Site or Home Use, 289 CFM, Pivoting High Velocity Blower Fans, 3 Speeds, 2 Accessory Outlets 120V, Black, U1210
https://www.amazon.com/Lasko-U121...op?ie=UTF8
It has sold over 10,000 units the last month! around 20,000 units reviewed and 82 percent 5 stars and 10 percent 4 stars.

The model in this thread Honeywell ht-900 inch is the number ONE ...BEST SELLER ON AMAZON with 117,000 reviews ratings, with over 40,000 units sold the last month! https://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-...6333?psc=1 78 percent 5 stars and 13 percent 4 stars!

Vornado 660 Large Whole Room Air Circulator Fan for Home, 4 Speeds and 90-Degree Adjustable Tilt, Removable Grill, 10 Inch, Moves Air 100 Feet, Floor Fan for Bedroom, Office, Blackhttps://www.amazon.com/Vornado-CR...6333?psc=1 sells for 89 dollars, sold 3,000 units the last month, 81 percent 5 stars, 10 percent 4 stars.

I am just giving LINK to models, so others can see, again, all these brands have many different models, so point us to your favorite, or one that works for you.

Big difference on how many Amazon sold the last month, and the ratings, table fans are good, but I have found Utility FAN are more powerful but don't look artistically good looking! Smilie

Absolute junk! Do not buy. Previous models blew 3 times harder. They changed to a MUCH weaker motor. Speed 3 blows like speed 1 on the old style. Do not buy!

A lot of people are still stuck believing anything made in one production cycle (1 week up to a year) will be the same product the next production run. Yes, they do change out many things about a product in order to lessen the costs. Making them inferior, far inferior. I've worked in manufacturing support for 30 years and have seen it all. So when people try to tell me in person or in a forum that a brand or part number lasts forever, I scoff at them.

...yes, that is very true, I remember the honey ht-900 has changed over the years, it could more energy saver year, or higher powered another year, super quiet one year, different watts ect. We discussed this a few years back in the forum rooms , and recommended versions which were stronger and more powerful, ... each year these products do change batch to batch or year to year. Good Point.
