This happy hour deal has been around for over a year now. I'm surprised it's just getting posted.

actually, this is a great deal if you really want to get into it. there are some (albeit very few) restaurants that don't markup their pricing on doordash. pair that with a pickup order at a restaurant you drive by on the way home and you're getting the full 25% off regular price for your order. and as previously mentioned, even with the marked up pricing you can still save a few percent on your pickup orders. no, this isn't a free meal, but for those who were going to spend that money anyway, this is a savings.

every penny adds up if you're wise enough to utilize them. if there was a "1% off anything on Amazon" deal posted here limited to 1,000 redemptions, it would be over within 15 minutes.
Why are you posting logic?

The only reason I use DoorDash is for the monthly Sapphire Reserve credit and ONLY for PICK UP. It is frightening when you do the math and realize how much cost a delivery adds to your bottom line. Even with a free DashPass membership, I would never have it delivered unless it's a special occasion or emergency.

Consider this a PSA for everyone to double check how much this is really costing you. Always compare prices to the restaurant website menu as well. Especially for places you frequent.

Also the fact 1 in 4 Dashers admit to tampering with food at some point!
If they mark up and you are doing your own pick up, would it be cheaper just to pick up without the door dash markup?

Some credit cards give you monthly DD credit for free (use it or lose it)

Depends on the place. Oftentimes the markup might only be $1. $5 credit with the Sapphire Reserve makes me come out ahead. Especially if pairing with a DD coupon or discount code. Can also roll the monthly $5 up to $15, so it's basically a free meal once a quarter.

I try to take advantage of once a month though by having discounted gift cards applied to my account. Multiple credit cards offer 3% on online retail purchases, and DD gift cards can be had for 10% discount. It also seems a lot of restaurants offer special promos nowadays that can bring price even lower than if you were to purchase directly with restaurant.

Nope, with the Sapphire Reserve you get IC+ for free plus $15 in monthly credits. Some places also don't mark up much or at all and often offer coupons as well. So far I'm getting the full $15 monthly value. Only catch is order needs to be $35 to waive pickup fees but not a big deal for me.
Im only seeing $5 in monthly credit from my CSR. Is there something I am not taking advantage of for the other $10?

If you combine with this happy hour deal 25% off, I think you can beat the instore prices. Especially if you buy discounted DD gift cards which seem to often go on sale.

Is the HH promo just a temporary thing?

More like doorgrab with all the fees
Depends on the restaurant. Placed an order with the happy hour deal, and it was slightly cheaper than to order directly. Only a couple of cents, but then delivery for the cost of a tip was very reasonable for me. And since I used doordash credit that I got at 15% off, I probably still paid less than if I had ordered directly and picked up.
